by Race/Ethnicity and Sex --- United States, 2001--2003

¶ Death rates are known to be underestimated.
** Might be of any race.
During 2001--2003, AI/AN and non-Hispanic black male adolescents had higher average annual death rates than males
in other racial/ethnic populations. Among female adolescents, AI/ANs had a higher death rate than any other population.
In each racial/ethnic population, males had higher adolescent death rates than females.
