PCC Values Statement
The Program for Cooperative Cataloging and its membership value:
- The timely creation and maintenance of authoritative, cost-effective bibliographic
and authority records by knowledgeable catalogers at many institutions around
the world;
- Quality cataloging records, rich enough in content to be used with little
or no modification at the local level and reasonable enough in cost to be
generated in large numbers;
- Working in a manner that fosters and reflects cooperation, collaboration,
and partnerships, collegiality, professional judgment, and service to the
user;
- The PCC's role in providing leadership in the bibliographic community in
the form of continuing education, development of standards, authoritative
and up-to-date documentation, and enabling more effective use of automation.
