sidescansonar
Purpose
Establish a geologic framework and baseline from which to examine
future changes offshore San Diego caused by wave erosion and transport
associated with the predicted El Nino and examine downslope funneling and
capture of sediment by the two canyon heads (Scripps and Rose Canyons).
Information to be Derived
Sea floor map
Summary
Day trips on the SAICHON the resulted in a sidescan-sonar digital
mosaic, bathymetric map, and seismic profiles along every line.
Notes
Navigation Techniques: Differential GPS
