VanVeengrab
gravitycore
Purpose
Ground-truth geophysical data using video, digital seafloor imagery,
and physical sampling.
Information to be Derived
Surficial geology, grain size, and benthic habitat observations.
Summary
12 days spent collecting underwater video on transects over multibeam
and sidescan data coverage areas in 5 to 100 m water depths in the main axis of
Glacier Bay, the two northern inlet (arms), and smaller interior bays. Sediment
samples, short gravity cores, and bed sediment camera imagery were collected
throughout cruise. Digital video tapes. Data files of video observations.
Digital macro photos. Short cores. Bottom grab samples.
