Overview
This grant program funded research projects that were planned in close collaboration with Head Start or Early Head Start programs. Grantees receive $150,000 in funding for the first year, and $250,000 dollars in funding for each of two additional years. Projects were expected to address interventions, assessments, or expansion of the knowledge base regarding culture and school readiness of English Language Learners. Pennsylvania State University, New York University, Arizona State University, San Diego Research Foundation, Harvard University, University of South Florida, and Temple University received these awards for fiscal year 2007.
