Air subtopics Alphabetical List of All Topics

Since most people spend a majority of their lives indoors, the quality of indoor air is a major area of concern for the EPA. Sources of indoor air pollution include oil, gas, kerosene, coal, wood, and tobacco products, and building materials and furnishings such as asbestos-containing insulation, damp carpets, household cleaning products, and lead-based paints. Through its Indoor Environments Division, the EPA provides hotlines, publications, outreach and other initiatives to improve the quality of air in our homes, schools and offices.
