GMWK50 Worktable 50 lists the number of deaths, death rates, and age-adjusted death rates per 100,000 population for Alzheimer's disease. Deaths and death rates are tabulated by 10-year age group, race, and sex. Age-adjusted death rates are used to compare relative mortality risks across groups and over time; they are indexes rather than direct measures. Age-adjusted death rates are standardized to the standard population (U.S. population distribution for 1940). Alzheimer's disease is a rankable cause but is not included in the NCHS standard short tabulation lists for mortality (the 72 cause list and the 282 cause list). GMWK50_1998
