Back to School: NASN Continues Annual Program to Help Members Fight Flu
Now that a new school year has begun and flu season is around the corner, remember to checkout NASN's "Don't Get Sidelined by the Flu" program, which provides resources and tools to educate parents, faculty, and students about preventing and treating influenza. NASN Launches Back-to-School Anaphylaxis Awareness Campaign

NASN Launches Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Program!
NASN has launched “Smart Moves, Smart Choices,” a program that responds to the growing rate of prescription drug abuse among middle and high school students nationwide. NASN has teamed up with PriCara®, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on the program, which features free resources for school nurses and teachers to educate teens about the serious risks of abusing prescription medicines. The program includes videos and lesson plans for the.Medic, a health and wellness feature of MacNeil/Lehrer Productions’ the.News, a new national news service for middle and high school students. Prescription Drug Abuse Toolkit - Now Available!
“The Current State of Teenage Drug Abuse: Trend Toward Prescription Drug” initiative answers the call made by school nurses for educational resources and practical tools to support strategies for preventing, identifying, and managing teenage prescription drug misuse and abuse. This program was supported by an educational grant from PriCara, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc, administered by Ortho-McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs, LLC.
