The program for the conveyance of the largest-ever private gift to the U.S. legislative branch of government included top congressional leaders, the Librarian of Congress and the Architect of the Capitol. Internationally acclaimed baritone and scholar Thomas Hampson, who, in his performances, encourages Americans of all ages to explore the vast music collections of the Library, performed at the celebration.
