Equipment Used
vibratingcore
Purpose
Vibracoring in Apalachicola Bay to ground-truth seismic
data and reconstruct the late Holocene history of the bay.
Information to be Derived
Grain size analysis
Visual core descriptions and age dates
Summary
Twenty-four vibracores were collected from 23 different
stations within Apalachicola Bay. Water depths for the stations
ranged from 2.2 to 4.0 m. The core barrels were 6.1 m (20 ft) in
length, and the recovered cores ranged from 2.6 m to 5.4 m.
Notes
5 days at sea.
Data types: sediment cores
Navigation technique: GPS
Occupied 23 stations.
0 km of continuous data.
Project Number
