Measuring School Connectedness
Researchers in the Add Health study measured school connectedness based on responses to the following:
How strongly do you agree or disagree with each of the following statements:
I feel close to people at this school.
I am happy to be at this school.
I feel like I am part of this school.
The teachers at this school treat students fairly.
I feel safe in my school.
Students responded on a five-point scale from "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree."
