The Changing Face of Women’s Health Returns to Atlanta
Featured Attraction During Women’s History Month Observance
| WHAT: | The Changing Face of Women's Health, an interactive exhibit, has returned to Atlanta. The exhibit explores menopause, society and body image, puberty, osteoporosis, breast health, heart disease, sexually transmitted diseases, smoking, research and gender issues, real women’s stories, and women’s health history. Because it is interactive, the exhibit allows visitors to feel a breast lump, identify individual risks, take quizzes, and more. The exhibit also features artwork addressing various women’s health issues. |

| WHY: | The exhibit is a primary attraction in March activities to observe Women’s History Month planned by the Office of Dispute Resolution and Equal Employment Opportunity in conjunction with the Office of Women’s Health. With an emphasis on four areas important to women's health: what puts us at risk, what's in our control, what to look for (detection), and staying healthy, the exhibit presents a sampling of many critical health issues facing women today. |
BACKGROUND: The Changing Face of Women's Health first began touring the United States in 1999 and has returned to CDC for its second visit to Atlanta. It is open to the public and can serve as an educational tool for girls, women, boys and men. Funding for the exhibit was provided by CDC, the National Institutes of Health, MetLife Foundation and Pfizer Women's Health. The exhibit is co-sponsored in Atlanta by the CDC National Center for Health Marketing and the CDC/ATSDR Office of Women’s Health.

Parking is available in the Building 19 parking deck located on CDC Parkway. Media must present two forms of photo identification and a valid press credential for access to the campus.
