Communicating with Your Child Care Provider (PDF)

Summary: This document presents tips for parents to help them communicate with their child care providers. Personal daily contact is essential to ensure the transfer of information required to meet the child’s needs. The child’s current health records and health history should be reviewed with the child care provider. Providers should be kept informed about unusual things in the child’s life such as sleep problems or family illness. Child care providers are a good source of information related to community resources (e.g., low-cost health insurance).
