Mike Bothner Chief Scientist, USGS Woods Hole
Bill Martin Chief Scientist, WHOI
Ken Parolski boat operator on Jan 10, USGS Woods Hole
Dann Blackwood technician on Jan 10, science diver on Jan 15, USGS Woods Hole
Dave Nichols boat operator on Jan 15, USGS Woods Hole
Joanne Goudreau scientist, WHOI
Lary Ball recovery of cores on Jan 16, WHOI
Equipment Used
underwatertelevision
scuba
GPS
benthicchambers
slowcore
Purpose
Jan 10 deployed two benthic chambers. On Jan 16 the chambers were
recovered. Eight diver push cores were collected.
Information to be Derived
Samples and chemical analyses
Summary
Deployed and recovered benthic chambers and took cores and video of
bottom.
Notes
Ice is a potential problem at the proposed boat launching site.
If significant ice has formed, the boat may be launched at Point Alerton
where the higher salinity will minimize ice formation. Other equipment: Benthic
chambers provided by WHOI
