Equipment Used
drillcore
Purpose
Install monitoring wells to evaluate groundwater dynamics and properties in Florida Bay in order to aid in the model development program element within the South Florida Ecosystem Program.
Information to be Derived
Groundwater attributes including forcing response, flow rate, flow direction, water level, salinity and nutrient content.
Summary
Drilled 30 cores and installed wells in Biscayne National Park,
including 14 sets with a deep and shallow well.
Notes
HALIMEDA is a 16 ft. field office boat.
Cores have been described and published Multer, H. G., Gischler, E., Lundberg
J., Simmons, K. R., Shinn, E. A., 2002, Key Largo Limestone Revisited:
Pleistocene Shel-edge Facies, Florida Keys, USA. FACIES, vol 46 p. 229-272.
Cores ,
are housed in St. Petersburg, FL.
