Equipment Used
handsamplegrab
Purpose
To collect sediment samples from Tokeland and Kindred Island for thermoluminescence dating
Information to be Derived
Time passed since sediment was last exposed at surface, petrographic analysis
Summary
Holes were dug at one location on Tokeland and one location on Kindred Island.
Two samples for thermoluminescence testing were taken at depth from
each hole. Four bulk samples were taken in each hole, two at depth
and two near the surface. One of each will be used for background
OSL levels and the other will be petrographically analyzed.
Notes
All samples were collected for and shipped to Robert Morton
with the St. Petersburg, FL office
where the petrographic analysis will be performed.
Thermoluminescence dating will be done by a USGS lab in Denver.
Got Help? For G-1-01-WA, we would appreciate any information on -- analog materials, contract, days at sea, dive count, funding, kms of navigation, national plan, NGDC Info, owner, project number, publications, scanned materials, seismic description, station count, station description, submersible, tabulated info.
