U.S. EPA Workshop for Federal Labs

  

“Improving Environmental Compliance and Environmental Management Systems at Federal Labs”

                                           

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a free, two-day workshop for the federal laboratory community.  The workshop will focus on federal facility lab requirements under various environmental statutes, regulations and Executive Orders, as well as environmental management systems and pollution prevention strategies. The workshop will be given in 13 locations in 2007 and 2008.

 

The workshop will:

 

  • Educate lab staff on regulatory compliance and Executive Order requirements applicable to general laboratory operations.
     
  • Identify specific tools, guidance and best practices to help lab personnel manage environmental compliance, EMS implementation and pollution prevention programs.
     
  • Help participants incorporate and integrate environmental practices and strategies into their facility’s EMS.
     
  • Host a panel of experts and other practitioners who will share environmental management system, compliance, and pollution prevention success stories.

This training is free and offered to federal employees. In most situations, federal contractors working at federal laboratories may also attend please check with specific workshop contacts (FFPM's) to see if this is possible. Each participant is responsible for travel and per diem expenses.

Class size is limited to approximately 40 participants and pre-registration is required.
