Summary: This 2005 English and Spanish language resource packet contains information that organizations, individuals, and communities can use to promote safe children and healthy families. Tip sheets are included on positive parenting. Everyone has a role to play in supporting families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Ways to get involved in the neighborhood include: (1) develop friendly relationships with neighbors, (2) help a family in crisis or under stress, (3) reach out to children in the community, (4) get involved in a local school, and (5) help to keep the neighborhood safe. Organizations and programs that promote the well-being of children and healthy families and prevent child abuse are listed.
