Legislation

Beginning in FY 2002, competitions for grants are under the Partnerships in Character Education Program as authorized under Title V, Part D, Subpart 3, Section 5431 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Part D is the Fund for the Improvement of Education (FIE).
