Visiting the Jefferson Building
Public tours are offered of the Thomas Jefferson Building: Monday-Friday
10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30; and Saturday at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, and
2:30.
The tours begin in the Ground Floor Visitors Center of the Thomas
Jefferson Building. Information on public tours or about reserving group
tours can be obtained at the Web page on "Visiting
the Library" at http://www.loc.gov/loc/visit/ or by calling 202-707-8000.
Information Desks are located in the Visitors Center on the ground
floor of the Jefferson Building and in the main foyer
on the first
floor of the Madison Building. Researchers
are encouraged to visit these locations to find out about the Library's exhibitions,
special events and programs, and educational opportunities.
Exhibits
Exhibit areas in the Jefferson Building are open 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday
through Saturday. The first floor exhibit areas in the Madison Building are
open from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M. Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 A.M. to
6:00 P.M. Saturday. Other exhibition areas in the Madison Building are open
Monday-Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Information about exhibitions and

Sales Shop
The Library of Congress's gift shop is located in the Library's Jefferson
Building in Washington D.C. The hours of the shop are 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays and all federal holidays.
