Cues: Presence of Adult Mosquitoes

  • Idea to promote:
    • Person sees adult mosquito
    • Asks him/herself, “Where did it come from?”
    • Immediately searches for larval habitats
    • Eliminates or controls all potential habitats found
Another potential behavioral cue to prompt dengue control actions is the presence of adult mosquitoes. The control program could promote the idea that whenever people see a mosquito in or around their home, they should ask themselves where that mosquito came from, and immediately search for larval habitats, eliminating or controlling any larval habitats or potential habitats found.
