Media Advisory: Library Police to Close Streets May 2

Library of Congress police will close two streets on Saturday, May 2 to make way for electrical substation work.

Second Street S.E., between East Capitol Street and Independence Avenue, will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Third Street S.E., between A Street and Independence Avenue, will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 6 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Consequently, doors on Second Street used by researchers, visitors and library staff to enter the Thomas Jefferson and John Adams buildings will be closed on Saturday, May 2. Alternate entrances to each building will be open.
