Andrew Blum joined USIP in September 2008 as a program officer for the Grant Program.

For the previous five years, he was assistant director at the University of Maryland’s Center for International Development and Conflict Management, where he was the director of the ICONS Project and oversaw the undergraduate minor in that field. Prior to that, he served as academic director for the Institute for International Mediation and Conflict Resolution and field representative for the Carter Center in Georgetown, Guyana.

He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, School of International Relations.
