The records of the Engineering Societies Library were given to the Library of Congress by the Linda Hall Library, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1995 and transferred to the Manuscript Division from the Prints and Photographs Division in 2001.

The records of the Engineering Societies Library span the years 1950-1995 and contain biographical material concerning deceased members of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Files include the edited version of the biography that was published in the journal ASCE Transactions and in pamplet form, as well as related correspondence and occasional photographs. The biographical files were collected by the Engineering Societies Library in New York City and are organized alphabetically by name.
