Dear Colleague:

OCSE is planning a series of workshops in March that will focus on the interrelationships between policy, programs and child support systems. With so many programs under devel-opment at the same time, it is easy to lose sight of the "big picture." These workshops are designed to help you understand how everything fits together.

Deadlines may seem far away right now, but they will be here before we know it. To help you get ready, OCSE is hosting a series of three regional workshops on "Child Support Enforcement Systems: Bringing Us Together." These workshops are being planned in direct response to issues that you and your staffs have raised over the past few months.

These workshops will provide representatives from your agency with the most current systems, policy and program-related information available on:

The Federal Parent Locator Service, including the National Directory of New Hires and the Federal Case Registry
State Case Registries
High Volume Quick Administrative Enforcement
Interstate Issues
CSENet
Connect:Direct
Financial Institution Data Matching
Administrative Tax Offset, Tax Offset and Passport Denial
State Disbursement Units
EFT/EDI
Distribution Test Deck
Financial and Statistical Reporting and Reliability of Data

We will be distributing more than 30 documents, including implementation guides, record specifications, Action Transmittals, draft Questions and Answers, Users' Guides and more.

Your State can send up to five individuals to these workshops, which will be offered three times in March at locations across the country. We strongly encourage you to send a mix of program, policy and systems staff who are directly involved with the above issues. OCSE will pay the hotel expenses for one attendee from your State. In order for your representatives to have an opportunity to meet with their colleagues from other States in your region, we encourage your staff to attend the workshop that is held closest to your State.

Enclosed with this letter is one registration form. Please make copies for those who will be attending. Additional logistical information will be sent to registrants once their registration forms have been received.
