The Office of Child Support EnforcementGiving Hope and Support to America's Children

CSE Forms supply

August 7, 1990 DC-9017

TO STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

You may recall that our "Dear Colleague" letter dated May 29, 1990, provided you with an overview of the major changes in the forms. We have reconsidered two points made in that correspondence, however.

First, we indicated that by late June or early July, you would receive a package that includes a camera-ready set of forms and a diskette which provides the capability to generate the forms on a IBM compatible personal computer. Unlike previously anticipated, the package will be disseminated in September.

Second, we stated that the revised forms were not to be used until January 1, 1991. The package you receive in September will indicate that you have discretion in using either the "orginal" or revised forms until January 1, 1991. On that date, you no longer may use the "original" forms. We made the implementation date flexible for several reasons:

-Some child support enforcement agencies have a large supply of "orginal" forms. The flexibility in the implementation date will enable agencies to use these forms rather that throw them away.

-Some child support enforcement agencies' supply of "orginal" forms is low. This change in implementation date will eliminate the requirement of printing more "orginal" forms.

-During OCSE's pilot test of the automated forms, several were actually filed with courts. Therefore, several revised forms already are in the court system and must be acknowledged as acceptable interstate forms.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Yvette Hilderson Riddick at (202) 252-5427 or 370 L'Enfant Promenade SW, OCSE Program Operations, Program Support Branch, Washington, DC, 20447.

Sincerely,

Allie Page Matthews
