Dr. Deborah Merke earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She followed that with a master's in biostatistics from Columbia University, and then earned her medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
After a pediatrics residency at the Children's Hospital of
Philadelphia, Dr. Merke joined NICHD in 1997 as a pediatric endocrinology
fellow. Earlier this year, she became the acting chief of pediatric
services at the Clinical Center.
