Re: Tax Refund Offset Ninth Collection Report - PY-95

Dear Colleague:

We are very pleased to forward to you the Ninth Collection/Adjustment/Address and corresponding Name Change reports for the 1995 Federal Tax Refund Offset Program. Enclosed is the collection report representing the tax refund offsets for the month of October 1995 less the service fee and any adjustments made during this period for the 1990 through 1995 processing years.

The net collection total for October 1995 for 15,386 offsets is $9,784,764 as compared to 11,066 offsets for $6,477,819 in

October 1994. The net year-to-date collection total through October 1995 of $813,935,338 has exceeded the October 1994 total of $692,218,252 by over 17%.

We are very pleased to report that the IRS has reduced the service fee amount per offset for processing year 1996 to $5.71 ($5.63 to cover IRS' basic expenses and $.08 toward interest) from the current fee amount of $7.83. Please inform the appropriate program and systems personnel of this change to be effective on the February 1996 collection report.
