Abraham Lincoln Association

This site contains information about news, events, and activities related to the Abraham Lincoln Association, as well as educational materials for teachers. In 1953, the Abraham Lincoln Association published The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, which is available in full text on the University of Michigan's Web site. The Association currently publishes the Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association, the only journal devoted exclusively to Lincoln scholarship, and For the People, a quarterly newsletter for its members.

The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission

The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC) commemorates the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln, emphasizing the contribution of his thoughts and ideals to America and the world, and serving as a catalyst for strengthening freedom, democracy and equal opportunity for all. The ALBC Web site contains biographical information about Lincoln; a timeline; a selection of his most famous speeches and letters; a virtual tour of the places important in Lincoln’s life; the Gettysburg Address translated into 29 different languages; educational materials for teachers such as lesson plans, upcoming professional development opportunities, and reading lists; and a section for kids and young adults.

This site provides a wide variety of online resources related to Lincoln. It contains information on Lincoln-related news; speeches and writings; images of places in Lincoln's life; educational materials for teachers and students; and links to other Lincoln Web sites.

Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum

This site contains a virtual tour of the museum and a detailed description of the Lincoln-related collections in the library. It also provides an interactive timeline of Lincoln's life and links to related resources on the Internet.

American President: An Online Reference Resource

The Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia presents essays about Lincoln and his life before and during his presidential terms. It additionally provides biographical information about Mary Todd Lincoln and cabinet officials of each administration, as well as information on Lincoln's private and public papers.

The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln

Published by the Abraham Lincoln Association in 1953, the University of Michigan's Web site presents the full text of The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, an eight-volume set of Lincoln's correspondence, speeches, and other writings. The site provides basic and advanced search options, and can be browsed by volume.

C-SPAN: Lincoln 200 Years

This Web site honors the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. It contains a schedule of C-SPAN Lincoln programming, video, a timeline, transcripts of his most notable works, and a picture gallery.

HarpWeek: The Presidential Elections 1860-1912

This HarpWeek Web site features political cartoons from Harper's Weekly, Leslie's Illustrated Weekly, Vanity Fair, Puck, Judge, and American Political Prints, 1766-1876: A Catalog of the Collections in the Library of Congress. It provides explanations of the historical context and images of each cartoon, campaign overviews, biographical sketches, a review of the era's major issues, and other valuable information related to Lincoln's presidential campaigns in 1860 and 1864.

Lincoln Home National Historic Site

The Lincoln Home National Historic Site preserves and interprets for the benefit of present and future generations the home of Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois. The History & Culture section of this site contains the full text of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, speeches, quotes, essays, images, timelines, and biographical information on Lincoln and his family.

The Lincoln Institute

Lincoln/Net - Abraham Lincoln Historical Digitization Project

Lincoln/Net presents historical materials concerning Abraham Lincoln's Illinois years (1830-61), including biographical information, essays, thematic materials, primary-source documents, lesson plans, images, and video presentations.

The Papers of Abraham Lincoln

The Papers of Abraham Lincoln is a long-term project dedicated to identifying, imaging, and publishing, both comprehensively in electronic form and selectively in printed volumes, all documents written by or to Abraham Lincoln during his entire lifetime. The Papers of Abraham Lincoln is sponsored by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and co-sponsored by the Center for State Policy and Leadership, the University of Illinois at Springfield, and the Abraham Lincoln Association. This site presents scanned images of the five known drafts of the Gettysburg Address and a selection of newly discovered documents related to Lincoln. It also contains the Lincoln Log, a chronology of Abraham Lincoln's life that can be browsed or searched by date. In addition, an extensive bibliography on Lincoln's life is provided on this site.

POTUS: Abraham Lincoln

The Internet Public Library's POTUS (Presidents of the United States) Web site provides background information, election results, a list of cabinet members, notable events, and some points of interest on each of the presidents. Links to biographies, historical documents, and other presidential sites are also included.
