National Alliance for Hispanic Health - Bilingual Diabetes Curriculum:

Living with Diabetes/Viviendo con La Diabetes

The National Alliance for Hispanic Health* has created a bilingual diabetes curriculum to provide health professionals (i.e. and community health educators) with a comprehensive review of pre-diabetes to prevent, detect, and control of type 2 diabetes and its complications.

Materials for the trainer are user-friendly and include an overview for each of four workshops, a "Just the Facts" questions and answers sheet, and slide and note pages with talking points. The curriculum also includes a "Diabetes Care Journal" (Diario para la atenciĆ³n de la diabetes) that can be used by consumers to track their various health care providers, necessary tests, and medications.  It also includes a body mass index (BMI) chart a list of reviewed and recommended diabetes materials for consumers, and a CD-ROM containing all of the workshops and materials in PowerPoint and PDF files.
