President Bush to Nominate Three Individuals to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate three individuals to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Juan Carlos Benitez to be Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices. He is currently Of Counsel at Long, Aldridge and Norman in Washington, D.C. From 1995 to 1999 he served with the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration as Legislative Director, Associate General Counsel and Legal Counsel. From 1993 to 1995, he was a Labor Associate with the law firm of Fiddler, Gonzalez and Rodriguez. Originally from Puerto Rico, he is a graduate of Sacred Heart University and received his law degree from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Law.

The President intends to nominate Janet Rehnquist to be Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services. She is currently an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and was an Associate Counsel to the President from 1990 to 1993. She served as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and University of Virginia Law School.

The President intends to nominate Carole L. Brookins to be United States Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a term of two years. She is presently the Chairman and CEO of World Perspectives, Inc., where she has served since 1980. She is a current member of the U.S. State Department Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy and served on the President's Export Council from 1990 to 1992. Brookins was chairwoman of the Advisory Committee to the U.S. State Department on Food, Hunger and Agriculture in Developing Countries from 1984 to 1988. Originally from Indiana, she is graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
