Annual Advocates for Bartow's Children Duck Derby
Over 10,000 rubber ducks are released down the Etowah River during the 6th Annual Advocates for Bartow's Children Duck Derby held at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Riverside Day Use Park, just below Allatoona Dam. The ducks are recaptured down stream and the owner of the winning duck receives a donated new car during the charity event.

McDonald's Big Bass Splash Tournament
Possibly the largest amateur freshwater fishing tournament in the US, the McDonald's tournament routinely draws over 3,000 contestants during three days of competition. As many as 6,000 contestants have participated in past years. Cash and awards are given to hourly and daily big bass winners, boats are awarded to contestants with fish weighing exactly 2.00 and 3.00 pounds, and the overall winner takes home packages of boats, vehicles, and other outdoor gear, as well as cash.

C.A.S.T. for Kids is an event that gives children with special needs an opportunity to experience fishing with their own personal guide. They are also provided all necessary fishing gear for the outing. Lunch was served to all participants. Prizes and participation certificates were awarded. C.A.S.T. stands for Catch a Special Thrill and the event is held in conjunction with the CAST for Kids Foundation, the Stockton Lions Club and the Stockton Lake US Army Corps of Engineers.
