Summary: This document presents quality standards for accreditation by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC). The standards describe a holistic view of quality in family child care. They are organized into 6 sections: Relationships, The Environment, The Activities, Developmental Learning Activities, Safety and Health, and Professional and Business Practices. The NAFCC Accreditation Process is divided into four main phases. The Application Phase, the Self-study Phase, the Observation Phase, and the Decision Phase. Recommended steps are listed to help providers become NAFCC Accredited. A glossary of terms is included. Contains 117 references.
