Summary: This report presents the Standards for Accreditation of Oklahoma Schools in 2002. The report is divided into 4 parts: (1) Standards for Accreditation of Schools and Technology Centers; (2) Standards for Accreditation of Technology Centers; (3) Rules of the State Board of Education, including administration and organization, the school staff, and curriculum and instruction; and (4) an index of topics. Oklahoma schools have the responsibility of meeting the educational needs of all students, providing equitable educational opportunities, and fostering lifelong learning as they prepare to participate in a democratic society. The school establishes relationships with its parents and community that result in a feeling of mutual trust. The school is organized to ensure the achievement of its goals. The working relationships among the local board, superintendent, principal, and staff are such as to facilitate the successful functioning of all phases of the school’s program.
