TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

On May 12, 2000, in DCL-00-55, the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) announced a request for applications from State Child Support Enforcement Agencies for the funding of demonstration projects as authorized under Title IV-D and Section 1115 of the Social Security Act. A copy of that announcement, with a revised due date, is enclosed. This letter revises that announcement, extending the due date for applications until July 31, 2000.

SUMMARY: OCSE announces the availability of Fiscal Year 2000 funding for demonstration activities intended to add to the knowledge, and to promote the objectives, of the Child Support Enforcement Program under Title IV-D. This announcement contains the FY 2000 priority areas for funding together with the forms and instructions for submitting an application.

DATES: The closing date for submission of applications is July 31, 2000. Applications postmarked after the closing date will be classified as late. States that have already submitted applications that wish to revise them may submit revised applications by July 31. Please attach a note withdrawing the earlier application and substituting the new one or mark the application REVISED.

INTENT TO APPLY: If you are planning to submit an application, call, email, or write one of the individuals mentioned above with the following information: Name of State agency, the name, address, and telephone number of the contact person; and the program area in which you plan to submit an application. Please provide this information within one week of the receipt of this announcement.
