The Office of Child Support EnforcementGiving Hope and Support to America's Children

DCL-00-110

OCT 31, 2000

TO: ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

This letter is a reminder for States to submit their OCSE-157 reports by the deadline of October 30, 2000. States will have sixty days after that to make revisions. (Please note that this supersedes DCL 00-108 which stated States had thirty days to make revisions). The revised reports must reach us no later than December 31, 2000.

Also please note that, when States report statewide out-wedlock-births on the form, Federal fiscal year is the preferred way of reporting. However, per AT-99-15, as long as 145like146 vital statistics data are used and compared from year to year, calendar year data or state fiscal year data are acceptable. States must indicate on the OCSE-157 report or on an attachment what reporting period they are using, if it is other than the federal fiscal year.

If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact Joyce Pitts at (202) 401-5374 or e-mail her at jpitts@acf.hhs.gov.

Sincerely,

David Gray Ross
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
