Fostering new generations of highly-skilled scientists and engineers is
critically important to the aeronautics community. The Aeronautics
Research Mission Directorate (ARMD), as part of its commitment to
mastering the core competencies of aeronautics in all flight regimes, is
restructuring its education program, including focusing investments in
undergraduate and graduate education.
NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program Updated
Scholarship applications are now being accepted through January 16, 2009
from undergraduate and graduate students for the fall 2009 cycle. The
scholarship program expects to again award 20 undergraduate and five
graduate scholarships to students in aeronautics or related fields.

DASHlink Web Site Now Available to Researchers
DASHlink is a virtual laboratory for scientists and engineers to
disseminate results and collaborate on research problems in health
management technologies for aeronautics systems. Managed by the
Integrated Vehicle Health Management project within NASA's Aviation
Safety program, the Web site is designed to be a resource for anyone
interested in data mining, IVHM, aeronautics and NASA.

NASA Aeronautics 2008-2009 Student Competition Goes Supersonic
High school and college students are invited to propose ideas or design
concepts for a commercial transport that can fly faster than the speed
of sound over land or water. For high school students, notices of intent
are due December 15, 2008 and final papers are due March 15, 2009. For
college students, notices of intent are due January 15, 2009 and final
papers are due April 30, 2009. Full details are at the competition Web
