Great Bend, KS -- To further help individuals and businesses affected by the April 21 tornado, the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), in Hoisington, Wednesday, May 2. It will be located in:
Hoisington Public Library
169 S. Walnut St.
Open Wednesday, May 2
9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Operating hours after Wednesday will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday until further notice.
Disaster Recovery Centers are designed to provide more detailed program information to those who have already applied for assistance under President Bush's April 27 disaster declaration for Hoisington and Barton County and who may have further questions. Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies will be present, including loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The disaster programs available include temporary housing, individual and family grants, disaster unemployment assistance, and other assistance programs. PLEASE NOTE: financial assistance is not directly provided from these centers.
