Disaster Recovery Centers To Close In Barry, Jasper Counties

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Residents of Barry and Jasper counties affected by the severe storms and tornadoes in May or flooding in mid-March have until June 13 to visit their local Disaster Recovery Centers, announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Both DRCs are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Friday, through June 13. The locations are:

Barry County
Purdy Community Center
403 State Highway C
Purdy, MO 65734

Jasper County
Bethany Presbyterian Church
1930 Virginia Ave.
Joplin, MO 64804

A DRC in Neosho, Newton County, will remain open until further notice. Located at Calvary Baptist Church, 2650 Oak Ridge Extension, its hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Disaster aid is always available via FEMA's registration Helpline, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585.
