FEMA/Kentucky Disaster Recovery Centers Announce New Hours

London, KY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Kentucky Emergency Management (KyEM) have announced the new hours of operation for the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) located in four Kentucky counties. The centers will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, beginning May 20. The centers will be open through Sunday, May 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and will be closed on Sundays beginning May 26.

The centers are located at:

State Coordinating Officer Cash Centers stated, "The centers will continue to be staffed with representatives of federal, state and voluntary agencies who will provide information and answer questions about the assistance available to residents of the 32 designated disaster counties following the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding of April 27-May 10." Centers added, "The centers are open to everyone. But to be eligible for federal disaster assistance, individuals and businesses must have suffered damages in one of the designated counties."

"If they haven't done so yet, disaster victims are urged to start the application process by calling toll-free, 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362). Those with hearing or speech impairments may call TTY 1-800-462-7585 to apply," Federal Coordinating Officer Mike Bolch said. "Applicants are encouraged to call the FEMA Helpline at the same numbers to receive answers to questions and to update or check on the status of their applications," he added.
