Prevalence

Main reason for operation

  • Among women aged 15-44 years in 2002 who report  their husband's or partner's vasectomy, main reason for operation:
    • Had all the children she wanted: 47.0%
    • Husband or cohabiting partner had all the children he wanted: 36.4%
    • Medical reasons: 5.0%
    • Problems with other methods of birth control: 0.5%
    • Other reason: 11.1%
