BACKGROUND: The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) of 1996 (P.L. 104-193) mandated State IV-D agencies to implement the Financial Institution Data Match (FIDM) program to match delinquent child support cases against financial accounts and seize these assets to offset arrears.

The Office of Child Support Enforcement expanded its website to include a web page dedicated to the FIDM program. The attached desk aid is to inform the child support enforcement community and the financial industry of this resource and to assist them with navigating this information.
