By National Research Center on Disabilities , Ed.
December 1, 2005

Summary: This Microsoft PowerPoint presents an overview of activities by the National Research Center on Learning Disabilities (NRCLD). Early Intervening Services (EIS) and Responsiveness to Intervention (RTI) are defined. Five programmatic components of EIS include: professional development, screening of children, monitoring progress, delivering scientifically-based instruction, and fidelity of implementation. With RTI implementation, students receive high-quality, research-based instruction by qualified staff in their general education setting. School staff members assume an active role in students’ assessment and conduct universal screening of academics and behavior.
