Summary: This Microsoft PowerPoint presentation describes how coaching is used in three States (i.e., Kansas, Nebraska, and Maine). Coaching is presented as an evidence-based professional development strategy. Coaching in early childhood is an interactive process of observation and reflection in which the coach promotes the other person’s ability to support the child. The characteristics of an effective coach are listed. An example is presented from Nebraska.
