Aeromedical Personnel Train at Fort Polk |

|
U.S. Air Force aeromedical personnel, Capt. Brenda Howell and Staff Sgt. Rodney Hicks, review the day's schedule of patient movement at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La., during an aeromedical evacuation training exercise, Aug. 20, 2005. Aeromedical evacuation training is conducted so that joint forces can participate under realistically accurate scenarios and conditions replicating the initial phases of a contingency to include: deployment from home stations; staging at an intermediate base area; onward deployment by air, land, and ground convoy; and initial combat employment. Overseen by a cadre of skilled observers and controllers, this quarterly exercise tests the abilities of the forward deployed medical community to meet the immediate needs of the wounded warrior.
