| U.S. Military Assists in Russian Sub Rescue |

| Sailors from the U.S. Navy's Deep Submergence Unit Unmanned Vehicle Detachment make preparations to load a "Super Scorpio” robotic rescue vehicle aboard an Air Force C-5 Galaxy aircraft at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, Calif., Aug. 5, 2005. The “Super Scorpio,” also known as the Tethered Unmanned Work Vehicle System, will be used in efforts to rescue the crew of the Russian Navy mini-submarine Priz trapped 600 feet below the surface off the Russian Pacific Coast. Fishing nets or cables snagged Priz’s propeller. “Super Scorpio” has high-powered lights, cameras, sonar and robotic arms that could be used to cut away the fishing net or cable. The Navy is transporting two of the remotely operated vehicles in an effort to assist the rescue of seven Russian sailors trapped on the ocean’s floor in a mini-submarine off the Kamchatka Peninsula.
