Rebuilding a City from Debris |

Debris litters the city of Meulaboh on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, Jan. 10, 2005. Meulaboh is the site of the first landing craft air cushion vehicle landing of Operation Unified Assistance. Assault Craft Unit 5, assigned to the USS Bonhomme Richard, delivered 34,000 pounds of aid to the tsunami-stricken city. The Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group is currently operating in the Indian Ocean off the coasts of Indonesia and Thailand in support of Operation Unified Assistance, the humanitarian operation effort in the wake of the Dec. 26, 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
