The Liberation Curriculum (LC) initiative provides document-based lesson plans and resources and professional development workshops to inform teachers about global efforts to achieve social justice, human rights and liberation through nonviolent means, with special emphasis on the modern African American freedom struggle. Rev. James Luther Bevel, 1936-2008

Rev. James Bevel, one of King's top lieutenants, passed away on 19 December 2008 from pancreatic cancer.
