La Alegria de Leer! (HTML)
By Claudia Quigg , Ed.
1993

Summary: This Spanish language book describes the many ways that reading aloud can help children. Reading helps children learn about language and prepares them for school success. Books can prepare children for their first visit to the dentist or the first day of school. Sharing stories with children can help them deal with problems. Books help develop the imagination. The best reason of all to share books with your children is that it is fun. Children can be taught to love books through example. Children should see their parents enjoying books. Book lists are included for many topics (e.g., reading to infants, reading to toddlers, bedtime books, participation books, poetry for older children, folktales and fables, problem solving, chapter books, picture books for preschool children, mysteries).
