Severe Streptococcus pyogenes infections, United Kingdom, 2003–2004 (Print-based)

Participants will read the article “Severe Streptococcus pyogenes infections, United Kingdom, 2003-2004” located in Emerging Infectious Diseases journal, Vol. 14(02), February 2008 in print and online at http://www.cdc.gov/EID/content/14/2/202.htm. They will be able to describe the geographic distribution of cases, demographic profile of patients, seasonal patterns of infection, clinical presentation of patients, patient risk factors, public health implications related to S. pyogenes infection.

TARGET AUDIENCE: The target audience consists of healthcare professionals involved in the study, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or education with regard to infectious diseases, i.e., epidemiologists, health educators, laboratorians, physician assistants, nurses, and physicians.
